Tony's journey through the music and stage hire industry is nothing short of impressive.

In 1972 Tony started a disco company in Newcastle called Roanwatt. Within 4 years he had a staff of 16 working for him, servicing clubs, pubs, schools and even the Wangi Queen showboat.

In 1979 The Strand Theatre closed in Newcastle and Tony bought the sound system which was the largest within the Newcastle regeion. Tony then secured it onto 2 trailers and provided sound for dancing girls at half time during football season. Tony then did PA for large outdoor concerts and in 1995 Roanwatt built it’s first concert stage and then built another four stages.

Roanwatt’s promo vehicle was a used ambulance which toured the Hunter Valley providing sound and staging for events such as jazz in the vines at Pokolbin and unique functions at Maitland Gaol that required a crane to lift the stage and equipment over the wall - see photo

Tony’s proficiency in designing and configuring advanced sound systems is particularly notable. He is considered a first-generation pioneer in auditory experience and has the know-how to push the boundaries of what’s possible.
